Cuticle oil is NECESSARY for maintaining your nail enhancements AND nail health.

It helps keep the nail enhancements (acrylic, gel-x, gel overlays, etc.) adhered to the natural nail because the nail is properly moisturized. When the nail plate becomes too dry, the nail will begin to curl amongst itself, just as a leaf fallen from a tree would in the fall season. The enhancement and the nail plate will begin to separate causing lifting and/or breakage. This lifting can start anywhere on the nail, from the free-edge of the nail to the cuticle line.

Nail health is greatly improved by cuticle oil as it keeps the nails hydrated, promotes nail growth, keeps the skin around and underneath the nail moisturized, eliminates hang nails, and combats dry skin.

Be sure to purchase my homemade cuticle oil made with certified organic oils. It’s truly a win!

I have many more products on the way :)

A dry manicure is similar to a Russian manicure but they ARE NOT the same. They are similar because they are both waterless and require an electric file (e-file) for cuticle care.

A dry manicure is a broader term used for any waterless manicure. The level of detail to the cuticle and nail plate is dependent on the anatomy of the clients nails. Not all clients need or can handle the highly precise and intricate work that is involved in a Russian manicure. Dry manicures focus on the removal of dead skin and simple cleaning of the cuticles.

Russian manicures are highly detailed and involves intricate cuticle removal. Specific e-file bits are used to exfoliate the dead skin and cuticle and the cuticles are cut away with scissors or nippers.

Both offer flawless finishes and a clean cuticle area, which allows the polish to be applied closer the cuticle line, for longer wear time. The type of manicure I provided is tailored to the needs of the client.

A dry pedicure is a broad term for any waterless pedicure service. Dry pedicures focus on detailed cuticle care and removal by use of an electric file (e-file). It offers the same flawless finish as a dry manicure with a clean cuticle area, that allows the polish to be applied closer the cuticle line for longer wear time.

Dry pedicures are effective at removing dead skin and calluses from gentle to advanced exfoliating tools, resulting in softer, smoother feet. The use of an e-file for exfoliation allows for targeted removals of rough patches and calluses. Since the skin isn’t softened by water, it is less likely to tear during exfoliation, which ensures the results are more durable. With the dead skin removed, oils, moisturizers, and creams can penetrate deeper into the skin. This leads to better hydration and nourishment.

Dry pedicures eliminate the risk of waterborne pathogens and cross-contamination that can occur with shared foot basins. A great options for those with sensitive skin, diabetics, or an auto-immune deficiency.

A regular gel manicure includes a dry manicure for cuticle care and nail prep, one base coat, 2 coats of colored gel polish, and top coat for finish. Regular gel manicures can last up to 2 to 3 weeks. They do not offer any strength or durability to the nail, just a clean up and color.

These are full covered soft gel nail extensions similar to press on nails. Instead of being applied with glue, they are applied with gel which is healthier for the nail plate. Gel-X provides immediate length to the nails. They’re lightweight and super comfortable, a great alternative to traditional acrylics.

Perfect for clients who want longer nails for a special occasion or just a style switch-up!

I recommend this service to my clients as a great transition service if you’re switching from acrylic or dip nails OR are a recovering nail biter. Gel-X provides great protection over the natural nails that allows them to grow and heal underneath the extension. Once the natural nails are at a good working length, we can transition into a structured gel manicure, dual forms, or polygel to focus on the health of the nails.

Yes and no.

Gel-X can last between 2 to 4 weeks. If there is minimal lifting, Gel-X can be filled in. If there is major lifting, a removal and new extension is applied. Gel-X can be filled in only once or twice because as the nail grows, the stability and apex of the nail have shifted. With repeated filing of the extension the integrity is compromised and a fresh set is a better option.

A structured gel manicure is simply a gel overlay using soft or hard builder gel. Builder gel adds strength and durability to your natural nails which promotes nail growth. A dry manicure is included with this service which ensures a longer-lasting set from 3 to 4.5 weeks but no more than 6 weeks.

This is a great option for clients who want to focus on the health of their natural nails, grow their natural nails, or increase the strength of soft, bendy, or easily broken nails.

NOTE: NOT ALL GELS ARE BUILDER GELS! Ask questions & do your research!

Soft Gel & Hard Gel

Soft gel is a product that adds strength and durability to the natural nail. The flexible gel resin has a syrup-like consistency that is applied in layers. A base coat is applied and cured. Next, the gel is used to build a durable apex in the center the nail. Soft gel offers a stronger and longer wear time than a regular gel manicure. It can be worn for 3 to 4.5 weeks but no more than 6 weeks. Soft gel is not chemical resistant and can be soaked off with acetone.

Hard gel also provides strength and durability to the natural nail. Its' consistency can range from syrup-like to pudding-like depending on the products use case. It’s applied the same as soft gel and offers that same wear time. However, hard gel is chemical resistant and CANNOT be soaked off with acetone. The is a great option for hairstylist as hard gel can by hair dye resistant.

Structured gel overlays require maintenance every 3 to 4.5 weeks but no more than 6 weeks. This maintenance is called a rebalance which addresses the gap between the cuticle and the new nail growth as your nails grow. This includes removing any lifting or damaged material, reshaping or shortening the nails, cuticle care with a dry manicure, and rebalancing the structure of the gel for durability.

Once you have reached the max wear time, your nails are at serious risk of breaking at the stress area, possibly causing damage to the nail plate and/or hyponychium - the skin underneath the nail plate.

Polygel is a hybrid product that combines the strength of acrylic with the flexibility of gel resin. It is a thick putty-like consistency that is molded to the nail plate with alcohol to create a strong, durable nail overlay or nail extensions.

It is perfect for clients with naturally curved nails, clients who have deep C curves, or clients who may need a stronger overlay enhancement but still need flexibility due to the anatomy of their nail.

Polygel can also provide two services in one!

A gel overlay AND a nail extension created by the polygel.

This is great for clients who want to maintain their natural nails and have immediate length. This is just as light as Gel-X nails.

Polygel overlays and extensions are meant to be rebalanced every 3 to 4.5 weeks but no more than 6 weeks. Once you have reached the max wear time, your nails are at serious risk of breaking at the stress area, possibly causing damage to the nail plate and/or hyponychium - the skin underneath the nail plate.

If it's more than a solid color, it's considered nail art.

Dual forms are two services in one!

A structured gel overlay AND a nail extension created with hard gel.

This is great for clients who want to maintain their natural nails and have immediate length. This is even lighter than Gel-X nails.

Dual forms are meant to be rebalanced every 3 to 4.5 weeks but no more than 6 weeks.

Once you have reached the max wear time, your nails are at serious risk of breaking at the stress area, possibly causing damage to the nail plate and/or hyponychium - the skin underneath the nail plate.

Your nail set wear time is subjective and tailored to your lifestyle.

I tell all my clients that any enhancement has the ability to last six weeks with the right products, application, and aftercare. However, all of that is subjective to how clients use their hands and nails and if they follow the aftercare recommendations.

I recommend to all my clients they wear their first set with me a complete 4 weeks so they have the ability to see how long they like to go between sets.

Quick reminder: Your nails are jewels not tools.

I recommend for my girlies who just get gel on their toes, they refresh their toes and feet every 6-8 weeks.

When I start doing toe reconstructions and toe enhancements, I will apply those wear rules here. Be on the look out for new service announcements!

Not at this time, but it is something I am working towards providing it in the future.
